When Denholm Environmental expanded through acquisition, they needed to increase their office footprint—and fast. A new portacabin was brought on-site at their Souterford Avenue premises in Inverurie, and the challenge was clear: deliver a fully operational, energy-conscious workspace with no delay to operations. 

Enter Hosie Electrical—a long-standing service partner to Denholm and a trusted name in the North East for electrical installations completed to a high standard. 

“Hosie is our preferred supplier and was very reactive to our request,” said a Denholm representative. “This was a last-minute ask, and they fitted it in without hesitation.” 

Scope of Work: Smart, Practical, Built to Last 

Hosie Electrical was tasked with providing power and data infrastructure to the new workspace. This included: 

• Installing socket outlets throughout the portacabin
• Reconfiguring lighting circuits to be controlled by PIR (motion) sensors
• Installing data points to allow for full IT integration 

While not a technically complex job, what made the project stand out was the tight deadline. We had to mobilise quickly—and did so without compromise.

The work was carried out by Craig Petrie and Ross Gilmore, whose professionalism and attention to detail were highlighted in the client’s feedback. 

“Craig carried out the work safely, efficiently, and left the area in a very tidy manner. We were really impressed.”

Though sustainability wasn’t the primary driver for this project, energy efficiency was still embedded in the solution. 

By installing LED lighting and motion sensors, the new office space now aligns with Denholm’s wider energy-saving goals. 

“Stephen advised us on energy-saving components like motion lighting. It’s great to see that integrated—even in a fast-paced project like this.”
